This practice starts from the time when an individual hits puberty. An exposure to the adults world brings in the idea of masturbating. Sexual exposure provokes masturbation: There is a belief that kids should not watch adult content on television. But, masturbation is nowhere related to only sexual exposure. Secretion of sexual hormones makes a child know more about masturbation and sex.

Only men feel like masturbating: Who says this? This common myth has been broken down by females. There are many females who masturbate. Many researches show that more number of men masturbate and not women. This is because women feel awkward to accept it as the society takes female masturbation negatively.

Masturbation decreases sperm count: Some men think that masturbating decreases the sperm count. The truth is, there is no connection between masturbation and sperm count. The body produces sperm regularly so, do not take this myth as a fact!

You masturbate due to lack of pleasure: Well this is definitely a myth! People who are used to masturbate prefer it even after having sex. This is one of the ways to enjoy pleasure. Women too, love to reach orgasm and feel that both sex and masturbation are two different ways to satisfy yourself!

Masturbation is unhealthy: Who says that masturbating is unhealthy? There are many health benefits of satisfying oneself. It not only provides pleasure but also relieves you from stress. If you are lacking a sex life, just masturbate!

Masturbation makes you infertile: Remember when you were a teenager? You also must have masturbated or seen some live examples of your friends. There is a myth that masturbation makes you infertile but, it is a good way of releasing semen and staying healthy. Moreover, young teens secrete more sexual hormone. So, they are the ones who masturbate almost regularly and this in no way affects their fertility.
